Dufferin County

The County of Dufferin is an upper tier level of Municipal Government serving the Townships of Amaranth, East Garafraxa, Melancthon, Mulmur and the Towns of Grand Valley, Mono, Orangeville and Shelburne.

Dufferin County is known for its beautiful rural landscapes and picturesque towns. It is the highest plateau immediately west of Georgian Bay, and as such forms the watershed between four lakes: Huron, Erie, Ontario and Simcoe. Dufferin County rests at the HEADWATERS of the Credit, Boyne, Grand and Nottawasaga Rivers.

Dufferin County has its own community museum, the Dufferin County Museum and Archives, located in the scenic hills of Mulmur Township.

The building’s striking architecture reflects the agricultural heritage of our region. The museum offers four levels to explore, art in the silo and archives for researching. www.dufferinmuseum.com
